Tushy, I owe ya one! Without the ‘How to Save’ bits of your tutorial I’d have torn my own hair (AND Bill Gates’) out today. Thanks so much for the down-to-earth instructions.

I’m not sure how to fix that particular problem. He may need to reformat his PC. My experience has been that when something goes screwy with the system it’ll show up first in Movie Maker.

I know one person that has had trouble with this program. He says that even when he chooses to save it in “My Computer,” it chooses “Recordable CD” instead, screwing everything up. I don’t have this problem, so I don’t know how to fix it. Does anyone else know how to fix it?

If you follow my instructions then it will save as a wmv file which is accepted by YouTube and you should have no trouble at all uploading it.

If you’ll look around and *read* then you should be able to figure both of these things out. “import video” and “upload video” should be obvious. Good luck!

I’m finding out more and more that Movie Maker is glitchy. I had to get a really good registry cleaner and run it in order to fix the problems I was having.

You’ll have to rip your CDs so that they’re mp3 files on your computer. That’s just the way it works!

seriously, Windows Movie Maker sucks. iMovie is the way to go if you want an editing program for cheap (it comes with the new macs for free.) Or get Final Cut Express or Pro, they are the best.

It’s all in how you save it! Once you’re done editing click “File” then “Save Movie File” and that should save it as a wmv file.

I am completely stuck, I firstly can not capture footage from my camcorder to WMM, secondly if I put the mini DVD disk with the footage on into my PC and try and send it to my WMM it comes up as VOB or IFO format and I can’t figure out how to convert them to a WMV format…what a headache can someone help?

I did a history project using the movie maker for the first time, hoping to get it done by the due date. And you just saved me about 3 hours of trying to figure out how to cut and fade the audio! So now I can get some sleep tonight! THANK YOU!!!!
