click and hold the mouse on the pen tool for a small time, then click convert vertex tool, for moving the small squares click “ctrl” you could try it without the “ctrl” button but that has an another effect.

A good method I’ve found is to set the keyframes on all changes of motion first. You go down, stop, then back up — keyframe each of those first. Then step between them and see how well it did. If it’s off, don’t adjust each frame yet, many times you just have to adjust a few between to get it to follow between, not each one. I don’t know why people thumbed you down, it’s a legitimate question.
